THCC103 Day 1 Tag 5 - Distress Micro-Glaze Resist Technique

It's always fun to learn a new way to layer with stencils.  I never thought about doing it with a resist like Micro-Glaze.

What a great day of Creative Chemistry 103 Day 1 – Distress Accessories!

By the time I created the third tag I think I was finally getting the hang of this resist technique.

THCC103 Day 1 Tag 4 - Distress Washed Watercolor Technique

This resist technique is very similar to one of the techniques of the July 2016 Tag of the Month.  For the sentiment I used the brush tip of the distress for the sentiment.

THCC103 Day 1 Tag 3 - Distress Off-Set Stamping Technique

Part of what makes this technique pop is the correct stamp.  I look forward to trying several other stamps for this off-set stamping technique.

THCC103 Day 1 Tag 2 - Highlight Stamping Technique

This technique was great fun.  The image looks embossed because of the highlighting.  I can't wait to create more.  The stamps are from Texana Designs with a recent re-release of the thistle from Jam'n Stamps and a perfect sentiment for this week's CC103 fun.

THCC103 Day 1 Tag 1 - Distress DIY Ombré Technique

For this technique I created a custom ink pad using Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire.  The butterfly stamp from Texana Designs shows a beautifully blended image.  I stamped it on multiple surfaces to see the differences.

I also plan on using this palate in the opposite direction for a fiery sunset image!  Another great sky color I want to try is Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans.  This is the color of the eastern sky at sunset showing the earth shadow and the Belt of Venus.  Keep watching this space.

I didn't have any of the word dies, so I used my Brother Scan'n'Cut and Texana Designs Stamps.  Karen Lambert designed "word stackers" a few years ago for Texana.  I stamped the word "HAPPY" and created a cut file for the SNC.  I needed to resize it just a bit so that it would fit on a tag.  I cut the word then used my thinlet tag.  I also used the SNC to cut around the script word "birthday".
