This was a fun technique remix. I didn't have all of the things I wanted to create Thanksgiving tag so I made a Halloween one and a Christmas one. I think both turned out really fun!

Swallowtail Cards
This beautiful Swallowtail Stamp has to be one of my favorite stamps. It is absolutely beautiful and very versatile. I created 3 cards of 4 colors. I have been gathering ideas of this stamp on my pinterest board. I lifted this idea and technique from several sites. If you want detailed instructions check out Simply Said with Karen's Blog here. I loved this design of fussy cutting and die cutting makes for great interest. I used Wink of Stella, Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and Distress Markers to color.
The inside of the card used the basket weave corner punch and Impression Obsession stamp - Happiness.

Altenew Beautiful Day Card Set
I used the Tim Holtz mixed media dies set 1 and 2 allow the mat color to show through. I used sentiment stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs. The corner punch on the inside allows the insert to be removed and the card recycled if desired.

Fall Spinner / Easel Card
This card was so much fun to make. I love the spinner. When trying to display it I realized that a standard card would not stay standing. I decided to make it as an easel card too.
Photos seldom do justice to the cards. I wanted to add a video so you could see it in action, Spinner cards have been around for ages, but this fall was the first time I tried my hand with making some. I made several in September for a Halloween Make'n'Take. Then I found a Lawn Fawn die that actually die cuts the channel for the spinner. I can see many more of these cards in my future.
Supplies:
DCWV patterned paper
Bigz Die Tattered Leaves with coordinating Texure Fade
Fall Leaves brads
Sentiments from Texana Designs
Have a Fabulous Fall and
A Thankful Heart is A Happy Heart
Thanks for looking!

Here Comes Halloween
Halloween has always been one of our favorite holidays. I believe that my daughter's excitement is contagious. She's been designing stamps for Texana Designs. We've all had a fun time with some great images. Great job Jillian!
I have some papers from DCWV that are 6" x 12" patterned papers. I added some glittery goo and two stamps from Texana on the front. The sugar skull is mounted on a wobble and is bouncy. The inside of the black card has a white mat with corners and the mini sugar skull and the sentiment "EEEEEK HAPPY HALLOWEEN". I used the remaining paper to decorate the inside of the envelope.

Below is a twisted easel card with Texana Stamps, dies from Spellbinders and Tim Holtz. I saw the design on pinterest and decided I had to try it too. I had some premade cards in orange and black so I cut them up to make this one. I'm really pleased how it turned out.
Here is another card using those orange and black cards and the sizzix triple flip die. I added three stamped images created by Jillian and two stamps. I also used a Tim Holtz Alterations tree die.

Halloween Spinner Card at Sassy Scrappers
It was a great day at Sassy Scrappers. I hope you were able to join us. If not, be sure to stop and shop. We didn't clean out the store completely! Hope you will make it the next time that Texana Designs has a trunk sale and make'n'takes.
The Spinner/Slider card is fun to make and fun to give and even more fun to receive. It takes a little planning, but just because of using the foam tape to adhere the pieces.
Supplies:
Texana Designs Stamps:
Halloween Background Ground
Ghost Set
Halloween Set
Eeeeek Happy Halloween
Boo to You
Made in Texas by a Texan or Handmade by
Stick It Adhesive Sheets
Ranger Adhesive Foam Roll
Sticky Thumb Dimensional Adhesive Foam - Black Dots, Assorted Sizes
Bazzill Smoothies Cardstock - Lemon Sherbet, Orange Crush, Bubble Gum, Apple Crush
Step 1: CREATE THE SPINNER ELEMENT
Color the image
Attach two pennies with a popdot.
Attach the image to the penny with a glue dot.
Set aside.
Step 2: CREATE SPINNER TRACK AND BACKGROUND
A track approximately 3/8" wide has already been cut in black mat.
If stamping this main mat, do so before putting the foam tape on the back.
The Radiant Neon Ink Pad will leave a subtle background on black.
Step 3: STAMP BACKGROUND WORDS
Stamp the decorative 2 1/2" neon colored mat. I used the Hero Arts Ombre ink pad. Next using a blending tool, ink the edges with black.
Step 4: ASSEMBLE SLIDER AND ADD EMBELLISHMENTS
In order to insert the slider slip the valley between the pennies onto the bottom of the track and then work the top of the track in between.
Add the neon gems to the bottom left section.
Step 5: DRIPPY GOO ACCENT
The American Crafts Glitter paper adds just the right amount of glitz to this card. The greatest trick is to use the "Stick It" adhesive sheets from Ken Oliver Crafts. It is a very thin, very sticky adhesive that is easily die cut or punched.
Step 6: APPLY FOAM TAPE AND MATS
Apply the foam tape to the back of the slider mat. Be sure to leave enough space for the penny to roll freely. I didn't want a contrasting color in the opening so I backed it with another black mat.
Step 7: ASSEMBLE THE CARD
The base card is orange cardstock cut 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2".
The black mats are 4" x 5 1/4"
If you have trouble lining up the mats straight I like to use score tape on all four sides. On two opposite corners peel back just an inch or so of both strips of tape. This gives you lots of play to get it straight before tacking it down and peeling off the remainder of the adhesive backing. The image above shows the 1" strip of the backing on the bottom left corner.
Step 8: DECORATE THE INSIDE OF THE CARD
Stamp the white mat with the Neon Inks or the Ombre Ink with stamps to match the front.
Step 9: STAMP THE BACK, SIGN AND DATE YOUR WORK OF ART
Texana Designs has some great stamps designed for the back of your cards. Remember to always sign and date your creations.

I am loving these new stamps released by Texana Designs. Jillian O'Diorne (my talented daughter) added to the Halloween line this year with the ghost, scarecrow, dracula and a treat bag (not shown here). Karen Lambert drew the branch and the crow. Frankie was released last year, but the mini was released this year along with the mini sugar skull.
I made a custom stamp pad with Distress Reinkers and applied to specialty stamping paper with a brayer for the background. The moon was masked before applying the color. Masking takes more practice so each of the spooks were stamped and fussy cut before becoming part of the card.
I
love the big Texas skies in West Texas. The Belt of Venus is the pink
color in the East created by the earth shadow of the sitting sun. I also
wanted to add a few stars to the night sky. Some of the cards show my
attempt at spooky clouds, but that will take more practice too.
Just a peak at a few more samples I've made this month are below. Check out the Texana Designs blog in a few days for more samples from the entire design team. We will also at Sassy Scrappers in Wimberley on Saturday September 10th from 10:30 to 12:30 for some great make'n'take cards. Hope to see you there!
